A wing of Netaji Subhas Institute of Business Management (NSIBM), a B- school affiliated to Kolhan University, the cradle has 100 BEd seats. Jamshedpur MP Ajoy Kumar, who inaugurated the college on Sunday afternoon, complemented the efforts of Netaji Subhas Group of Institutions in taking care of higher education and creating facilities accordingly. Kumar, who took stock of the facilities at the college, praised the infrastructure and said the state government should also make similar efforts in providing better infrastructure in educational institutions run by it. Principal of the college Purshottam Sahoo said the double storied BEd College was constructed over three acres. The college has facilities like different laboratories for psychology, mathematics and computer. It also boasts of a multi-purpose hall, a library, music rooms, art and crafts lab and separate common rooms for boys and girls. Secretary of NSIED M.M. Singh informed that seven new faculty members have been recruited for the BEd curriculum. “Our focus is to provide excellence in education and we are putting our efforts in that direction,” he said. According to him, the group’s next plan is to set-up a medical college at Patna in the next couple of years. Dean of NSIBM Nagendra Kumar, who is also looking after the BEd curriculum, said classes will begin on Monday. “All 100- seats have been filled-up. The course duration will be one academic year divided into two semesters,” he said. The first semester will be of 16 weeks and the second of 18.
