About National Institute Of Design NID, Bangalore

National Institute of Design NID, Bangalore was established in 2006. NIDs R&D Campus at Bangalore was set up as a joint initiative of and funding from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India and was inaugurated in March 2006. National Institute of Design is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research.

National Institute of Design Bangalore was inaugurated in the year 2006. Two programs of Design for Digital Experience and Design for Retail Experience were commenced later on in 2008. The institute began with the joint venture of Ministry of Information Technology and Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The institute offers design courses on different academic levels such as PG and doctorate levels. Doctor of Philosophy in Design course is also available in the institute. On postgraduate level, NID Bangalore offers Master of Design courses in seven specialisations.

The institute is considered as the Institute of National Importance. The institute is also included in the list of top design colleges in India. NID Bangalore stands 3rd among the names of top three National Institutes of Designing.

The institute has several departments of design. There is a separate R & D department for research and PhD programs. The institute has a large team of NID faculty members that work towards making students’ life successful. They have years of experience in teaching that enables them to make students understand the toughest of subjects with ease.
