Dr. T.M.A. Pai founded the Manipal College of Pharmacy in 1963 as part of the Kasturba Medical College. To begin with, the college offered only Diploma in Pharmacy. However, B. Pharm and M. Pharm courses were started without much delay, the former course in 1965 and the latter in 1970.The Department of Pharmaceutics was started in 1970.
