Located in The Congregation of the Carmelite Religious (C.C.R.) was founded by Mother Mary Theresa Veronica in 1868 at Bayonne, France. As Carmelites, we seek to enkindle the fire of Divine Love in the hearts of men and women by promoting the values of the Kingdom in society. The Carmelite Sisters run educational institutions of all levels in India and abroad. All Saints' College is one such institution., The College was founded in 1964 by the late Rev. Mother Mary Louise with the approbation of His Excellency, the late Rt. Rev. Dr. V.V. Dereere, O.C.D., Bishop of Trivandrum., The College was opened in the Holy Angels' Convent premises on July 6, 1964 with the late Miss Margaret P. Paulose M.A., L.T. as the first Principal of the institution and 277 students in the first year of the Pre-Degree Class. The present strength of the College is about 2000 after the delinking of the Pre Degree Course. Being a Catholic College for Women, its purpose is to give to students of all creeds a liberal education, to train them in the service of God and Man and Country and in such other things in harmony with that purpose., On May 15, 1965 His Excellency, the late Most Rev. James R. Knox, Apostolic Internuncio to the Republic of India, laid the foundation stone of the first block of the College at Chackai, the permanent campus. The College was shifted to the new premises at Chackai on January 19, 1967., On July 24, 1967, the College was upgraded by starting Degree Courses in the following main subjects: English, History, Economics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Zoology. Two Degree Courses, Botany and B.Com were started in July 1980 and Physics in 1993., Miss Margaret P. Paulose, the first Principal of the College retired on September 24, 1969. Sr. Mary Amata was the Principal from September 25, 1969 to October 8, 1972 and Dr. Sr. Mary Alice from Oct. 1972 to March 31, 1987. Sr. Mary Frances who took over on April 1, 1987, was elected Rev. Mother General on May 15, 1996. Sr. Mary Laurentia took charge as Principal on June 3, 1996. On her retirement in March 2000, Rev. Mother M. Frances resumed charge as Principal. On the retirement of Mother M. Frances on March 31, 2002. Dr. Esther Jayanthi, took over as Principal. On Dr. Esther Jayanthi's retirement, Dr. Mabil P.S took over as Principal on April 1, 2007., Rev. Mother Mary Louise was our first Manager. Rev. Mother Angela was at the helm of affairs from May 1975 to Sept. 1995 and Rev. Mother M. Frances from May 1996., Our College has progressed considerably with under graduate courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce and Post Graduate Courses in English Language and Literature (from 1982), Commerce (from 1995) and Environmental Science (from 2000). Need-based career oriented Certificate and Diploma courses are also offered., VISION, The creation of dynamic young women who are academically proficient and financially independent, socially committed and morally upright., MISSION, To develop a centre of academic excellence which will provide both knowledge and skills to meet the challenges o f today’s fast - changing scenario.
