Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned the State Institute of Educational Technology for Kerala in 1998., The Institute was constituted under the Travancore Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1951 on 08.09.1999 as an autonomous society with register No. T. 1373/99. The Rules and Regulations of the Institute are recognised by the State Cabinet. The Executive Committee, with the Minister for Education as Chairman, and the, Secretary for General Education as the Vice Chairman, has 16 members in all.
