Toonz Academy is the training division of the award winning animation studio, Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd. The academy was established in the year 2002 and is a fully owned subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd Singapore, the parent company of the Toonz Group. The first centre of the academy was established in Trivandrum near the Technopark campus during the year 2003. Plans are in fast swing to establish centers elsewhere in major cities across India. The academy offers 12 months Advanced Diploma course in animation. The Academy also offers a portfolio of short-term courses in animation and visual effects. Continuing its fast pace of growth, the Academy has signed MOU's with leading Chinese Universities to set up animation training centers in China and plans to expand its operation to West Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.

Toonz also offers Graphic Multimedia and Visual Effects courses, which are run in support of most modern software.

The eligibility criteria for these courses are an academic back ground stretching from 10th pass and above and a passion for creative work. Students with a diploma or bachelor's degree in fine arts or some experience in commercial arts are likely to get preference.
Selection Criteria
The selection will be done on scrutiny of portfolios and through admission/aptitude tests. The core faculty/selection committee shall determine the test process. For the animation selection process, thrust will be given on drafting skills and the understanding of posing, staging, and movement. The basic elements of an animation portfolio should include quick action sketches of humans or animals, which show the potential for movement.
