The Bhopal School of Social Sciences was founded in 1972 and evolved as a pioneering Under-graduate college of Business Management and Social Sciences under the initiative and guidance of Rev. Dr. Eugene D’souza, the then Archbishop of Bhopal., In the year 1985 the Department of Commerce was added to it and the college subsequently introduced Post-graduate programs in Commerce and English Literature in 1997. The institute diversified further in the year 1999 with the introduction of B.C.A & B.B.A. The BSSS, as it is commonly known among the student community, is affiliated to the Barkatullah University, Bhopal. The syllabus and examination method for the courses conform to what is determined by the University. The Bhopal School of Social Sciences is a minority institution owned and governed by the Archdiocese of Bhopal. In May 1994, His Grace,The Most.Rev.Dr.Pascal Topno, SJ, the Archbishop of Bhopal was named the Chairman and President of the College. With his blessings we begin the academic session 2000-2001..
