Kastubagram Rural Institute, Indore is an autonomous college affiliated to Devi Ahilaya University,was established in 1963 by National council for rural higher education government of India,New Delhi in co-operation with Madhya Pradesh government and Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust established by Mahatma Gandhi in the memory of Kasturba Gandhi. The Institute was affiliated to Devi Ahilaya University in 1969 and earned autonomous status in 1988., This is the first women autonomous college of M.P. state government and accreditation with B+ grade by national assessment & accreditation council (NAAC) in 2004.Institute has been recognized by the Human Resource development Ministry of India as the best unit. Institute received best Unit Award in the Silver Jubilee Year of N.S.S. 1993-94. It also received best Programme Officer Award in the same year., The main aim of Institute is complete personality development of the student Extra-Curricular and Co-curricular activities go hand in hand with academic programmes.The atmosphere at the hostel is secured and homely for the students, where even the guardians feel safe and they do not have to search for expensive hostel accommodation elsewhere.
