The guidance movement assumed an all India character in 1954 with the establishment of central Bureau of Educational and Vocational guidance at Delhi by the Ministry of Education. Consequently, there are 13 government bureaus and several private agencies working in the field of guidance. The state Bureau of Educational and Vocational Guidance at Jabalpur in one of the government bureaus. It started functioning in March 1956. Prior to the establishment of this bureau, the Department of Psychology of P.S.M. jabalpur offered certain services. It was engaged in test construction and development, assisting the educational institution in department of Planning and Development in selection village level workers., The College was established in the Year 1947 as department of psychology in prantiya shikashan Mahavidyalaya, Jabalpur. Seeing it’s Importance, it was established men as an independent unit on 10th September 1962.Since 1962.it is knows as Govt. College of Educational Psychology and Guidance.To Prepare the Counselors and Guidance, workers in various fields of society, To sender the testing, guidance and Counseling services throughout Madhya Pradesh and outside Madhya Pradesh., the Medical Science Faculty, PSM College, is conducting Bachelor of Physiotherapy and the B.Sc.Pathology courses, which have an affiliation from Barkatullah University and are recognized by the Department of Higher Education, Government of M. P. All students who have passed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks, can seek admission to these courses on the basis of merit.
