The institute is a reputed institution of management science in the region & recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Up till 2005 Institute was affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur and recently brought under the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune as a constituent unit from the academic year 2005-06., With an aim of providing quality education in management sciences, Institute of Management, Kolhapur was established in 1994. it is a reputed institution of Management Science in the region and is recognized by the Govt. of Maharashtra. The MBA and MCA programmes are approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. The Institute was affiliated to the Shivaji University till 2005. it was brought under the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) in 2005., The Institute is having its own adequately spacious building with a fair statistical dimension of 32,258 sq. feet.
