Located in Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s College of Computer Science & Information Technology at Parbhani was established during September 2000 with only 45 students. Initially college offered B.C.S (Bachelor of Computer Science) & M.C.S (Master Of Computer Science) with the intake 80 and 30 seats respectively these courses are affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada Univeristy, Nanded. In the academic year 2004-05 college started B.Sc. (Biotechnology) and B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Application) with the intake 40 and 80 seats respectively. In 2006-07 University gave us the permission for the second division with 80 seats intake capacity for B.C.S. and in 2007-08 for the second division for B.C.A. The mission has three components: teaching & learning, research & scholarship, and service. Foremost in the department mission is the commitment to excellence in all of three areas., The department strives to prepare students well for either graduate school or a professional career. Our graduates are expected to be able to make the connection between theory and application. We support our faculty efforts to expand the body of knowledge, disseminate their findings through publication and consulting, and engage in intellectual inquiry. Faculty members are encouraged to play a service role on the campus throughout., The Department of Computer Science has two Software Laboratories that remain open round the clock and also a Hardware Laboratory. The laboratories are equipped with state of the art machines and software. The department has its own LAN connected to the backbone network, Internet access facilities to the 256 Mbps Broad band line are made available through the Internet Gateway., The software laboratory consists of a IBM server, Clients with the accessibility to Linux/Windows 2003, Pentium 4 workstations running Linux, windows 2000. Advanced server and high end PCs all networked with 100 Mbps LAN. Software include C/C++ compilers, the Turbo Software Development suite, Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, J2EE, Oracle 9i, MS-SQL., Hardware laboratory is also well equipped with state art resources for conducting laboratory classes on Digital Circuits and Microprocessor Based Systems., Department of Biotechnology having the separate labs for Plant tissue culture, Molecular Biology, and General Biotechnology with UV-Vis double beam spectrophotometer, laminar air flow, Electrophoresis apparatus, UV Tran illuminator, Quartz double distilled water plant along with all required chemicals and media., The College has its own library with a collection of more than 2000 essential text and reference books and computer/biotech magazines. Video CDs of various subjects are also available., The mission of the Department of Computer Science & Biotech to prepare graduate and postgraduate students for productive careers in industry, academia, and government by providing an outstanding environment for teaching, learning, and research in the theory and applications of computing & biotech. The Department places high priority on establishing and maintaining innovative research programs to enhance its education quality and make it an important regional, nationals resource center for discovering, integrating and applying new knowledge and technologies., The Computer Science & Biotech graduate programs is committed to providing students with a high-quality education and prepares them for long and successful careers in industry and government. Our graduates, while eminently ready for immediate employment, will also be fully ready for focused training as required for specific positions in computer science, Biotechnology and closely related areas. Our students will “learn to learn” so that they can readily adapt themselves as the field of computing & biotechnology changes as well as their work environment changes. Graduates interested in highly technical careers, research, and/or academia will be fully prepared to further their education in graduate school.
