Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering & Technology was established in 1996 with the motto of providing qualitative technical education in the highly potential Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.Under the able and dynamic leadership of Shri Vijay Darda, Chairman, Lokmat Media Pvt. Ltd, & M.P. Rajya Sabha 1998-2016, the institute is marching towards fulfilment of the dreams of our beloved 'Babuji', Late Shri Jawaharlal Darda. The institute has a spacious building of 2.95 lakhs square feet spread over 17.3 acres of green plateau surrounded by tiny hillocks, trees, valleys & lake on the way to Amravati from Yavatmal. JDIET is an unaided engineering institute and affiliated to the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati and follows the course curriculum as prescribed by it.
The institute is recognised by All India Council For Technical Education, New Delhi & is governed by the rules and regulations of AICTE and Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. All eligible courses were accredited by National Board of Accreditation NBA and the Maharashtra Government has recognized the institute as 'A' grade.
