Department of Geography and Resource Management
The Department was established in 2003 under the School of Forestry and Earth Sciences with the help of two guest lecturers and Prof. R.C.Sharma (Retd.) from J.N.U. as the founder Head. The Department now has four regular teachers and is actively engaged in developing its laboratory facilities and imparts specialized courses in Regional Planning as well as Remote Sensing / GIS and Computer Cartography. It also provides computer / internet and xeroxing facilities to all its faculty members and students. The Department organizes study tours annually for II Semester students and assigns Research based Projects to IV Semester focusing on the local conditions of Mizoram. The Department is having 13 Research Scholars pursuing Ph.D at present.
