Since the inception Medical Laboratory Technology Certificate Course of 1 1/2 yrs duration was started in the institute, formally the name of the institute was Regional Paramedical and Nursing Training Institute RP&NTI, which is then rechristened as Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing RIPAN but later added the word Sciences and named as Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences RIPANS.
