Thrissur: Kerala University of Health Sciences awarded MBBS degree to Dr. Vandana Das posthumously. She was stabbed to death by an assailant during her duty at the Kottarakkara Taluk hospital earlier this year.

Vandana’s father K.G Mohandas and mother Vasanthakumari received the certificate on her behalf at the convocation ceremony held in Thrissur. They received this from the Chancellor, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, with tearful eyes.

The governor was seen consoling the mother who broke down on stage. On May 10, Sandeep stabbed the house surgeon Dr Vandana (23) at the Kottarakkara taluk hospital. The attack occurred when the accused was taken to the hospital for medical examination and was getting his dressing done.

Vandana was the only child of her parents.
