Located in The Siddheswar College was established in the year 1980 as a leading College in North Balasore and was recognized and approved by the Government of Odisha Vide letter No.13507/EYS, Dt.17-03-1981 and No. 48633/EYS,Dt. 20-11-1981 with the affiliation to both Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha and Utkal University Bhubaneswar vide letter No.20611-A-9757, Dt. 31-03-1982.. Subsequently the college was affiliated to Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Odisha. The College is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council NAAC, Bangalore with C+ + grade with effect from 2006. The territorial jurisdiction of the institute covers the bordering areas of both Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts of Northern part of Odisha with a sizable number of inhabitants belonging to the scheduled tribes. There are +2 , Degree and Vocational wings of the institute catering to the demand of higher education in the area. Myriad developments depend crucially upon human resource, Siddheswar College beacons light of knowledge to this region to pull up the underprivileged youth to the national mainstream to the domain of arts, science, commerce and technology., The origin of the college dates back to 1980. Some generous personalities of Amarda road, took lively interest to set up an institution for higher studies. The contribution of Smt. Tillottama Devi, the Maharani of Mayurbhanj is quite encouraging. They named this institution "BABA Siddheswar" the presiding deity of Amarda Road. Since then it has flourished significantly over the years., The college is situated on the border of Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts. It is located near S. E. Rly. station and the Bus stop that links these two districts., Within a span thirty years, the institution has acquired a two storied building for lecture theatres, laboratories. The building adjacent to it is the Administrative Block. A vocation building has been constructed by the government for spread of vocation education. Boundary wall and plantation inside the campus enhance the beauty. Further the financial assiatance ha sbeen received by the UGC towards Library, Laboratory and for the construction of class rooms and ladies hostel during the 10th and 11th five year plan., Academic history of the college records that, it was initially affiliated to Utkal university in 1980 with a sactioned strength of 64 seats in Intermediate of Arts & Science. Traditional Degree classes in Arts and Science were opened in1984 with 64 seats in BA and 48 seats in BSc. 32 for PCM and 16 for CBZ. +3 Commerce stream with 32 seats opened from the session 2009-10. Now the Degree wings of the college function under F. M. Univeristy., It is a Full-fledged Degree College which provides Teaching Facilities for Honours in History, Economics, Pol. Science, Oriya, English, Education, Philosophy, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany & Zoology. It has two NSS wings, one for Boys and other for Girls. Also Youth Red Cross functions here with Two units, one for boys and other for girls. Now the Staff of the college consists of a principal, 23 Teaching Staff, 1 PET, 9 Demonstrators and 30 Non-Teaching Staffs., The Thirty years old mother institution of ours has more than 2000 students in its lap. It has a long history of thirty years and miles ahead.
