Sri Sri Jagannath Mahavidyalaya, Krushnachanrapur, Erasama, Dist-Jagatsinghpur in the state of Odisha was established on 14th July 1980 as the first college in Erasama Block and dedicated to the service of Higher Education in and around Erasama. Initially this college started with intermediate Arts class for 64 seats affiliated to Utkal University of odisha . Now the college completes 34 years of its existence with expanding academic activities in +2 Arts, science, commerce and +3 Arts, commerce streams., It is moment to express deep gratitude to all the founders, parents ,benefactors and well wishers who had extended moral supports and co-operation for establishment and growth of this institution., This college was established with the unflagging devotion and relentless efforts of some local enlightened personalities Sri Krushnachandra Swain ,Gourishyam Nayak, Baikuntha charan Rout, Gopinath Rout, Kasinath Rout, Nibaran Nayak and others had a great deal of contribution for this college. Sri Bhagabat Khandual and Sri Krushnachandra Swain were unanimously nominated as the first president and secretary of the college Governing Body respectively., At the outset six lecturers in the department of English, Odia, Economics, Pol.sc, History and Socilogy , one clerk and four peons were appointed by the college Governing Body., The college got recognition from odisha government and affiliation from Utkal University in 1983. Our college adopted 10+2+3 System of education in 1983-84 as per the Education Reform policy of Govt of India.+2 commerce class opened in 1986-87 and +2 science class started in 1999-2000. +3 Degree Arts started in 1988-89and +3commerce class started in 2007-08 .For Higher secondary classes this college is affiliatedCHSE, Odisha and for degree classes it is affiliated to utkal university., With the passage of time the sanctioned students strength of this Co-education institution has increased in different streams with Honours teaching facility in History, Pol.sc, Economics, Odia, English, Education & Sociology. Now the strength of students in +2 Arts 256 ,+2 science 128,+2 commerce 64, +3Arts 192 and +3 commerce 64. This college has got its affiliation from the UGC and 2 f and 12 B of 1956 Act on 31-03-2006., This college is gradually making a headway with the recurring and non-recurring grants received from the UGC during Tenth, Eleventh and 12th plan periods, Infrastructure development grants from the state govt and inporvement fees received from the students.
