The very inception of this congregation was aimed at liberating the illiterate womenfolk from various types of atrocities and social injustices. The sisters of this congregation are deeply committed to the motto of the congregation. “Sanctification of sisters for the Sanctification of Women”. Though the congregation runs a large number of educational institutions, health and social work organizations in various parts of India and abroad, education has been their strongest weapon to achieve the above said motto., In the field of education the congregation has got Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools, the congregation has been running Technical Training Institution, Teacher Training Institutions, Community Colleges, Engineering Colleges and Arts and Science Colleges. The Prime objective of starting this institution is to provide opportunities for women towards their social and economic self-reliance and thereby improving their status in the society., At the time when the Congregation was seriously contemplating on opening up new avenues for higher education of women, the need to start a college of Education was strongly felt to impart quality education exclusively for the women who hail from rural areas and lower income group. It was mainly intended to cater to the needy of the prospective teachers of the High and Higher Secondary Schools. As a result of those serious thoughts and desire, the Immaculate College of Education for Women came into existence on 1-10-1999., When the much sought after discussions are going round about empowering women with education, Immaculate College of Education for Women has been established with the aim of imparting quality education to women, especially for those from the rural areas and from the financially weaker section. At the same time it also cater to the need of the hour, quality teachers for secondary and higher secondary levels.
