Located in Saradha Gangadharan College, is a general degree college located in Velrampet, Puducherry. It was established in the year 2001. The college is affiliated with Pondicherry University. This college offers different courses in arts, commerce and science., The Union Territory of Puducherry, which finds its identity in history as Vedapuri Place for higher learning is renowned as a center of spiritual emancipation and educational excellence since the days of sage Agasthia, who chose this consecrated place for his Ashram of higher learning and pursuit. Presently, its pristine glory is acclaimed globally through the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Puducherry has the unique honor of having nurtured the 19th century Tamil poets Sri Subramania Bharathi and Sri Bharadhidasan., In order to cater to the needs of the hundreds of students in basic sciences, humanities, Commerce and Management studies, especially those hailing from the economically less privileged society, our Chairman had cherished a desire to carve this Institution as a center of learning in the name of his mother Smt. Saradha Gangadharan in the year 2001 by getting affiliation from Central University, Pondicherry. The Institution has a Vision “To instil in each student, a very high standard of discipline and make the students technologically superior and ethically strong, which, in turn, will improve their quality of life” and a Mission “To provide individual attention, academic efficiency monitoring the progress of each student and keep in touch with the parents, eliciting their cooperation in shaping their character”., The year 2001 had seen the inception of the college with 4 Undergraduate Courses Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computer Applications and Bachelor of Computer Science. It had added up two more courses in 2002 Bachelor of Commerce Corporate Secretaryship and Bachelor of Mathematics. It started growing with the addition of Bachelor of Physics in 2006 and Bachelor of Information Technology in 2007. The Institution became a Post Graduate Institution from 2007 by introducing Master of Science in Mathematics in 2007, Master of Computer Science and Master of Commerce in 2008. B.A English had been introduced from 2011. In its eleventh year of existence, the Institution is offering 9 Undergraduate and 3 Masters Academic programs and has seen a threefold increase in the number of courses offered and many fold increase in the students and staff strength., The College encourages the students to participate in Co-Curricular activities like NSS, Rotract, Red Ribbon Club, Women’s Cell and Sports. The Institution has an active Placement Cell.
