Guru Nanak College of Education For Women has been established in 1966 on the name of Great Guru i.e. Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Motto of this institution is based on the philosophy of Guru Nanak “Truth is higher but still higher is truthful living”.The College has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in December’1991 with great fervour and enthusiasm. The college is affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and recognized by UGC, NCTE and accredited by NAAC. The college offers 110 seats in different combinations of Science, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Economics, Commerce, Punjabi, Fine Arts & Physical Education as teaching subjects.Computer education is provided in fully equipped Computer Laboratory. Participation in sports is a must for all the students., To inculcate social values in the students and to make them confident, morning assemblies etc. are organised. Which are dedicated to different issues like women’s education, global warming, population control and AIDS. The students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities and sports.
