Students are put through an internship period which enables to design creatively making a balance between the aspects of beauty and utility. It is aimed at understanding design concepts, fashion principles, interpretation of fashion trends, markets, materials, processes and technologies related to jewellery designing. The programme emphasises on appreciation and application of traditional Indian jewellery base in a contemporary milieu. The graduates find placement as designers in the costume jewellery & precious jewellery industries., Textile Design (TD) - The curriculum includes areas of surface design (print & embroidery). It provides an understanding of the aspects of production, consumption and innnovation in relation to craft, handloom and mechanised sectors. Computer aided designing is an important aspect of the curriculum. Students design and present a co-ordinated collection of textile for garments or interiors depending upon their interest and aptitude.
