Medicine is the art and science of healing the sufferings of mankind, thus the Medical and Healthcare professionals are the most distinguished and respected ones in the society. The Bachelor course in Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S) qualifies a person to be a medical professional. MBBS medical professional can practice as a physician and surgeon after a post qualification compulsory rotating internship for one year in a hospital or health care institution. A medical doctor looks after the patients with compassion and care so that they are physically, mentally and socially healthy. Thus a medical professional contributes immensely to keep the community and thereby country healthy.
Admission Procedure :
Admissions for all Indian Students are done through Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) conducted by Uttar Pradesh Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association. However, foreign nationals are exempted from appearing in the above mentioned examination. They must however be eligible for course as per the specified criteria.
Career and Placement :
M.B.B.S is one of the most prestigious degrees offered in the medical field. With the advancements in medical science which has become highly specialized, MBBS degree in itself is not adequate all the time and one is required to acquire a postgraduate degree to become a specialist. However, MBBS Doctors find jobs both in the government and private hospitals, nursing homes, as well as other health facilities. All private and public sector organizations in India and abroad also employ doctors. The combined medical services examination conducted by UPSC offers entry into central government departments like Department of Post and Telecommunication and Railways etc. All wings of the armed forces, state & central government hospitals & various state and central health schemes and NGOs recruit doctors. An MBBS graduate can start his/her own private clinic or nursing home.
