Course Information & Syllabus
Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering developed with vision to prepare graduates with expertise in biological engineering. Initiated in the year 2009 the course was designed to impart in-depth knowledge to students in various areas of biotechnology so as to meet the demand of industry and academia.
Lateral Entry :
=> A 3 year diploma after X with 60% aggregate marks in relevant branch
=> A 2 year diploma after XII with 60% aggregate marks in relevant branch
=> Completed B.Tech. 1st year from any other college with 60% marks
=> Documents Required: Course Structure, T.C., Migration and N.O.C. from the institute currently studying in
=> The institute must be recognised by AICTE or UGC
Admission Procedure :
Step1 ;
Application form can be obtained from: Admission Office, Sharda University, Greater Noida Campus, Regional Offices and International Offices.

Step 2 :
Visit University Campus or Regional Offices for completing Admission formalities
Step 3 :
If selected, candidates can deposit the fee through Cash/DD at Sharda University campus or through payment gateways like Credit Card, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank DD, Cash, etc., within 15 days of the announcement of selection.
Career and Placement :
There is a great scope for career in Biotechnology in India as well as abroad. Due to its multidisciplinary nature, Biotechnology offers employment opportunities in various fields like research, medicine, healthcare, animal husbandry, agriculture and environment industry. B. Tech in Biotechnology can look for options of marketing and production in the above mentioned fields. It is estimated that more than 6,000 biotechnologists of top skill are required in India as per the survey made by the Human Resource Development Ministry.
In 2014, 22 B.Tech students of the Department have been selected by Cryobanks International at a package of 2.66 LPA after initial training of 2 months. Five students have been placed at Lifecell International . It is India’s first and largest Stem Cell bank.
By January 2015, 10 B.Tech students of the Department have already been selected by Cryobanks International
