Shobhit University, Meerut Department of Basic & Applied Sciences School of Basic & Applied Sciences is an integral part of Shobhit University. The School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS) was set up on Nov. 8, 2006, to meet the long-felt need of imparting technical education in global perspective. The SBAS aims at offering a solid base to the aspiration-driven burgeoning engineers, scientists and technocrats in the area of application-based fundamental concepts of basic sciences and humanities. It gives the students optimal learning-centered field survey and experimental and computer-aided classes. In addition, it creates awareness in them towards corporate social responsibility by emphasizing the social aspects of applied sciences. It has an ongoing commitment to the expansion of quality education required to be noble human beings. In order to create highly required professionals in the modern era of globalization and IT revolution, the SBAS faculty and students actively participate in teaching-learning process and research in the vibrant and multidisciplinary environment. Indeed, it induces the impulse in students for becoming dynamic, innovative and creative personalities with right attitude and positive mindset. The School of basic and applied sciences at Shobhit University under the guidance of Prof. S.C. Agrawal, Director of the School, is well equipped to carry out both teaching and research through its various departments. The school endeavors to impart education of fundamentals so that students can well appreciate the intricacies of day to day problems and attempt to solve applied problems. On one hand Basic Sciences contribute to the foundations of numerous professions and industries and on the other hand one sees the urge to create new scientific knowledge driven by intellectual curiosity besides the desire to have reliable information’s for application. The school faculty is in constant touch with various experts in the relevant field, is open to and willing to experiment with latest ideas in teaching. The School has developed syllabi for various core courses that are being taught to the students of the university enrolled in its various schools like, Information Technology, Chemical Technology, Biotechnology, Environment Management and Software Engineering.
