Shobhit University, Meerut Department of Biomedical Engineering Centre for Biomedical Engineering is an integral part of Shobhit University. The Centre for Biomedical Engineering was set up on Nov. 8, 2006, to meet the long-felt need of imparting technical education in global perspective. This School provides an exciting theoretical and practical education in the field of Biomedical by addressing all of the major subject areas encompassing the new Technology and development in the field of Biomedical science and technology. The course contents broadly cover fields: Physiological signal processing, medical imcbeng, medical image processing, biomaterials, biomechanics and bioengineering, system analysis, bio-compatible medical devices, diagnostic devices and imcbeng equipments such as CT, MRI, SPECT and EEG, ECG and pharmaceutical drugs. The teaching syllabus are brought to level of International standard. The pace of development in teaching and research continued in the centre. Besides imparting quality education to the centre students, the faculty also teaches and have specialization subjects like nanobiotechnology, medical physics, biophysics to name a few. The program imparts training to students to assimilate knowledge of engineering design and development of medical instruments in medical sciences and hospitals. The course strengthens the manpower in area of biomedical engineering, thus forming a essential knowledge base between engineering principle, techniques and medical sciences for research and development in the service of society and mankind. To strengthen the work in area of biomedical engineering the centre has collaborated with computer, Instrumentation, electronics, Applied sciences and bioinformatics departments at undergraduate and post graduate level to impart knowledge on emerging interdisciplinary science and technology. The laboratories in the centre is well equipped with equipment i.e. impedance bridge method, ECG machine, Ultra Sound therapy unit. Different types of transducers and amplifiers, low frequency generator, power supplies, biomedical modules for experiments at B.Tech. and M.Tech. level. The faculty in department is actively engaged in research activity in different area bioinstrumentation, impedence characterization of biological tissues, biomaterials, biomechanics. Faculty is regularly publishing their research findings in international and national journals.
