Sri Devaraj Urs University (SDUAHER) Department of Ophthalmology The department is well equipped for undergraduate and post graduate studies with the purpose of treatment to people of rural areas in and around Kolar where very few ophthalmologists are available. The post graduate course started in the year 2000. Department also has experienced teachers including 4 professors, 3 assistant professors. Specialty clinics are also available. With the help of district blindness control society we are conducting free screening eye camps including surgeries once in a week covering around 60km diameter. We are conducting few research projects also including diabetic retinopathy screening and screening of premature babies for evidence of retinopathy and treating the eligible patients freely.
