The International Conference on "Advances in Mechanical Engineering" (ICAME 2006) attracted active participation of 200 delegates from highly reputed universities in 11 different countries. Careers : The program enables the students to take up careers in a broad spectrum of industries. Many of the IT industries also have CAD/CIM divisions, which increases the job potential of mechanical engineers. Around 70% of the students are placed in reputed industries practicing core and allied engineering, through campus recruitment and the remaining 30% prefer higher studies in India and abroad. Laboratories & Facilities : The Department of Mechanical Engineering has over 17 laboratories including thermal engineering, heat-transfer, dynamics, metallurgy, metrology, fuels, etc. Modern computing facilities are available for students at the Computer Aided Design and Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratories.
