Located in Orient Flight School is the aviation wing of the Hindustan Group of Institutions, a pioneering educational group at Chennai, offering a wide range of courses in Engineering, Management, Applied Sciences and Aviation. OFS was established at Puducherry in 1994 and is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. The flight training at OFS meets international standards, in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. With the introduction of low cost airlines in the open skies of India and Asia region, there is an anticipated demand for over 2000 qualified pilots in the next five years. With the introduction of airplanes like Airbus 380/319/320, and Boeing 737-800/900 by Air India, Kingfisher Airlines, Etihad Airlines, Air Asia, Air Arabia, Air Deccan, Jet Airways and so on, there will be tremendous demand for Indian Pilots. With the most modern fleet of aircrafts operated by Orient Flight School in its fourteenth year of operations, we are poised to the future of Aviation industry in India., Over a period of fourteen years of operations, OFS has trained hundreds of pilots, flown over 17,500 hrs, making over 32,500 landings, creating an excellent and impeccable training record. We have executed training programs for various non-scheduled and scheduled operators including Air Sahara and are proud to announce that several of our graduate pilots are flying for various airlines including Jet Airways, Alliance Air, Air Sahara, Air Deccan, Air India and several other organizations. OFS is proud to introduce the G1000 Cockpit 172 aircraft for the students to get the latest in flight training technology from Cessna and also brings new levels of safety and confidence to the trainees apart from making it easier for them to get adapted to the next generation aircraft., Orient Flight School prides itself as the only world- class flight school in the country to own a charter division. It has created several landmarks of excellence in flight training by sketching and providing courses based on individual requirements such as Advanced Flight Training Program, LOFT, etc., thus imparting invaluable flying experience that can only be gained in an airline. At OFS, we have established excellent infrastructure facilities to cater to the needs of our students. SAFETY BEFORE SELF and KNOWLEDGE IS POWER sums up our core philosophy.The administrative office is located at 40, Grand Southern Trunk Road, St. Thomas Mount, Chennai, at a distance of about half a kilometre from the Guindy Railway Station and 3 kms from the Chennai International Airport., The office is ideally located for the students to arrive either by bus or by electric train from any part of chennai city. Guindy and St. Thomas Mount subway railway stations are at equal distances from the office., OFS exists in two distinct training facilities. Ground training is carried out in a wellfurnished three-stored air conditioned building in the center of the city. Flying training is carried out in the airport and the OFS Hangar houses 12 aircrafts besides the associated technical facility at the airport..
