Constant endeavors to achieve and retain a high level of quality and topicality in research and teaching, coupled with innovative stimuli resulting from academic mobility and worldwide scholarly cooperation, have made the college one of India's most important centres of higher education in dentistry and cognate areas.The college has an open admission policy. Registration for new students begins approximately three months before the beginning of each academic year. Academic year normally begins in July/August. The College has addressed the issue of collegiality and integration of faculty and staff into total teaching and learning environment.Faculty is appropriately qualified and credible and 90% of them have a relevant Postgraduate or Research Degree. They are aware of debates at the forefront of dental knowledge and education, able to relate their subjects to other subjects in Dentistry curriculum and have upto-date understanding of dental practice gained through professional experience that is linked to good practice as well as to theory. Their entire spectrum of activities is placed within an international context, where English is used as the language of instruction. Many of them have improved their higher degree qualifications, published their research findings in peer reviewed journals, presented papers at national and international seminars and disseminated work through other avenues.
