Located in The Christian Institute for Technical Education was established in 1984 under the scheme of self-financing Polytechnic under the Directorate of Technical Education Tamil nadu as per GO. No. 753/EST/84 dated 12-06-1984., The Institution is a minority Institute run by Christian Education, Health & Development Charitable Society, Ambilikkai. Reg. No. 17/1984 dated 05-10-1976. I.T. 12, A.No.177 of 09-12-1976. The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Vide Ref .F. No. 418 GEN E&T 98 dt. Jan.22.1999., More than three decades ago, a group of Indian Christian Medical Doctors established a Society called Christian Fellowship to provide quality Health Care at low cost for the rural people of Oddanchatram and Ambilikkai area. Soon, others joined this band of Doctors and the Society expanded its service to include education and the economic development of the area. It is now registered under the Societies Act 27S.No of 1974 as Christian Education Health and Development Society., The Society provides Medical treatment through its Hospital CFCH, Ambilikkai.The Hospital has a multi specialty in surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynecology, TB, Leprosy, Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology, ENT and Cancer Units. Primary health care is offered by the Society's 24 Mini Health Centers located around Ambilikkai, Oddanchatram and in the neighbouring Panchayat Union blocks. More emphasis is given for preventive and promotional health care services., The Society believes that maintaining a sound body must go hand in hand with a sound mind. Everyone acknowledges that good education is the only way to help our young people to grow into responsible nation builders. To motive this, the society established many educational institutions like school, arts college, nursing college, polytechnic college and an engineering college., In this list the first technical education service was initiated through the christian polytechnic college in the year 1984., Christian Polytechnic college at Oddanchatram was established in the year 1984 by Padmabushan Dr. Jacob Cherian and Dr. Mrs. Mary Cherian to train the students, specially students from the rural areas to be good professionals with a balanced value system and confidence to face the challenges of life. Set in sylvan surroundings, in the township of Oddanchatram, 26 Kms from Dindigul, with Kodaikal Hill range forming a backdrop, the college provides quality technical education. The role of polytechnic college in providing basic supports to the technical and industrial development of our country is very vital. Over the years the college has emerged as one among the most reputed institutions in its peer group. With a clear Vision and Mission our team of experienced, competent faculty and devoted management is aiming at making the college one of the reputed centre of excellence in the near future.
