Advanced Tooling and Plastics Product Development Centre (ATPDC), a unit of CIPET Chennai was established at the Temple City – Madurai in March 2010. The Foundation Stone was laid for establishing the centre on 6th March, 2010 at Madurai. CAD/CAM centre was inaugurated on the same day. The Centre is now functioning at the Commercial Complex, near Mattuthavani Bus Stand. The Centre has started functioning from a temporary location and two long term courses have commenced from 16.08.10 with an intake of 90 students. Govt. of Tamilnadu has sanctioned a land of 19 Acres at Mukkambatti village. The CAD/CAM centre has imparted training to 120 students.
