The Latha Mathavan Polytechnic College is affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education Board, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and also approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India.The college has well experienced qualified and dedicated teaching staff committed to the task of imparting quality technical education. The college is committed to emerge as a competent technical intuition through continual spherical improvement to produce a world class technician. The mission of the institute is dedicated to the service of education directly and indirectly involves in the development of the nation., Latha Mathavan Engineering College has seen an eventful year of 2013-2014, although the trend now is towards arts and sciences. We bagged in 75% admissions for first year in both counseling and management seats. It is made possible only by the duly qualified lecturing staffs, monitoring HODs, effective Dean and trustworthy Principal. They plan for the whole year with academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities in line with Anna University Chennai, directed towards a holistic approach to bring out an outcome based student carrier in every Latha Mathavan Engineering student. One syllabus, one exam, one Anna University has changed the environment by all means, for the better quality education of our budding engineers. It will definitely increase the employability and marketability of our students, from the quality perspective on the globe., Our College has done not only in academic performance but too have excelled well in the Anna University sports of zonal, regional, state and national level. Our students have been selected to represent the state for inter-university sports among all UG grade Universities. Congrats to the Physical Director for his proper training and coaching schedules., Placement training have been conducted through the year and now many MNC companies and local entrepreneurs are conducting placement interviews either on campus or off campus mode. Our placement team is moving very energetically to place all qualified engineers seeking employment. The management along with the powered placement team, will help or render all possible means to increase the placement interviews as and when necessary. In line with this and IT industries instability globally, we have proactively taken a leap to get the Microsoft Platinum status in our college. Nationwide there are only 101 colleges and in Tamil Nadu only 5 engineering colleges are having this status and we are now one of them. Surprisingly only few colleges are actively participating in this program, and we have taken oath to 2nd active college, handling Microsoft Platinum Status examination courses in Tamil Nadu. The launching by the regional director is over, MOS & MOT exams are held and awaiting approval to launch Microsoft Innovation Centre soon to become one of world’s 55 centers watched directly by Microsoft. This will again create 250 interns from our college with 100 assured employable status by them in future.
