Located in The Nilgiri Planters Association, in commemoration of their centenary year 1991 formed a trust in the name of NPA Centenary Charitable trust with laudable objectives. The NPA Polytechnic College is a project launched by the trust with the object of improving the quality of l ife of words of the plantation workers apart from benefiting students from the local community within the guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Harmonious development of the body, mind and soul is emphasized with discipline, hard work and team work so that ultimately the students will rise to the ideal of "ARISE AND SHINE"., NPA Centenary Polytechnic College is a government Aided institution and approved by AICTE . As per the existing order of DOTE , it offers three years full time Diploma Programmes in Engineering and Technology to all the sections of the society irrespective of male or female candidates , selected according to the norms stipulated / prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education and AICTE to meet the growing needs/requirements of industry and to build an optimistic community by instilling in them self-confidence and self-dependence broadening their horizons. The Polytechnic is functioning in the permanent buildings constructed in Sakthi Hills at Kotagiri., The polytechnic was established in the year 1991 and Mr.K.Sourirajan took charge as Principal and under his guidance, the institution was functioning till May 2004. Mr.I.Alfred Ebenezer has taken over as Principal of the polytechnic from June 2004., The NILGRIES PLANTER'S ASSOCIATION IS A REGISTERED BODY UNDER THE SOCIETIES REGISTRATION ACT,1860. The Nilgiri Planter's Association was established in the year 1891.To commemorate its Centenary they formed the NPA Centenary Charitable trust under a registered Trust Deed registered with the Sub Registrar, Coonoor, on 6th December,1989., NPA Centenary Polytechnic College is a government Aided institution and approved by AICTE . Our mission is to make the students"ARISE AND SHINE"Apart from this the institution also wishes to offer formal and non-formal job oriented education programmes, short term evening courses under CIICP at reasonable but competitive cost and courses under Distance Educational scheme..
