Located in The college was started in the sacred memory of Thanthai Hans Roever., Fr.Roever was a German missionary and Civil Engineer by profession and born of very rich parents at Roestock. Even as a small boy, the teachings of Jesus Christ evoked in him a strong desire to live as a replica of Jesus Christ. As a result, after becoming an engineer He studied theology much against the desire of his father. He dedicated himself to the spread of Lord's message. Then he became a full-fledged theologian ignoring his family business of shipping., Thanthai Hans Roever decided to come to India to serve poor people. He landed in India in 1939 soon after the II Word War broke out. Being of German nationality, he was put in a political prison in Dehra Dun for four years. There he had a chance to meet celebrated national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and other eminent personalities. After the Second World War, he learnt that his brother and sisters died in the war except one sister, but the divine will consoled his broken heart and gave him a divine light to settle in India., Finally, he came to Perambalur (on the 1st February 1947), a backward area in many respects. After seeing the appalling conditions in Perambalur, he became a true Indian and tried to enlighten the illiterate mass and improve their caliber. It was not an easy task for him, but he took it up with a smiling face, labored for them and helped them to taste the fruits of education., So, he started a small orphanage of 50 orphan children drawn from different villages in 1947. Then it grew step by step and he was able to help nearly 300 orphan children. He selected the best among them, and formed a small association of the students and taught them in the field of social and community development in the villages..
