KLN College of Information Technology, started in the year, 2001, is the first engineering college in Madurai with a focus on Information technology. It was started by the munificence of philanthropists and well-wishers in Sourashtra community, which is a linguistic minority in Tamil Nadu. The College, a co-educational one, is sponsored by KLN Sourashtra College of Engineering Council consisting of eminent industrialists and academicians led by the pioneer Amarar, Thiru. KLN Krishnan. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. It is also an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institution.

The Founder President Amarar. KLN Krishnan was a great visionary legend in small scale industries and had rendered yeomen service to the cause of education including women's education. KLN College of Information Technology is a well-known institution in Madurai and throughout Tamil Nadu.

Dr KNK GANESH, an eminent Engineer and Industrialist, succeeded his illustrious father as President and Currently as Secretary of KLN Sourashtra College of Engineering Council and Correspondent of KLNCIT and is assisted by other Members of the Executive Committee and the Governing Council.
