The Govt Degree College, Peddapalli, Karimnagar Dist was started in 1987 by the Andhra Pradesh Govt in fulfillment of the persistent wishes of the people of the region for an institution of higher learning in their town. Before starting the college, the local students had to travel to the headquarters town of Karimnagar, 35 km away for higher studies.
