Located in VSR & NVR College with its wonderful infrastructure, and imposing buildings located in 21 acres of land is unique. It was the brain child of late Sri Nannapaneni Venkata Rao, well known as Nannapaneni, an impeccable politician, who strove hard to establish this college in 1951 to cater the educational needs of the poor, especially of the weaker sections, who were unable to go for higher education, due to lack of an educational institution in Tenali & Repalle taluqs. After crossing the infantile hurdles, it began to grow by leaps and bounds and witnessed many fast phases of progress and it became a prestigious institution. Generations of students remember Sri NVR the various Presidents Sri G.Ranganayakulu Chowdary, Sri.P.Sree Ramulu, Sri V.Seetharamaiah, Dr.K.Veeraiah, Sri T.Jagan Mohan Rao, Sri B.Rama Kotaiah, Sri K.Venkateswara Rao and Secretaries Sri A.Ahobal Rao, Sri A.Dharma Rao Sri N.Mohan Das. The sudden demise of Nannapaneni proved a havoc and the Govt of Andhra Pradesh renamed the college as VSR & NVR College in recognition of the services rendered by Sri NVR in the field of education. The present Management led by Sri N.Sudhakar and Sri M.Bala Gangadhara Rao is striving hard to regain the place of pride following the foot steps of Sri N.Venkat Rao. Under their able guidance the institution got autonomous status, which will be implemented from the next academic year., VSR & NVR College is one of the biggest college in the state with its three storied buildings, an auditorium with the latest equipment which can accommodate 1000 members, a Gymnasium, an Indoor stadium, Seminar hall with AC provision, well equipped labs, a spacious Library with thousand of books on various subjects, a vast playground with provision for Cricket and Tennis games, two separate hostels for Boys & Girls, an extension counter of Central Bank, cycle stand, Cement road, planked by Royal palms and beautiful gardens with Bharatha Matha and Mathru Murthy statues, all enclosed by compound wall on four sides., Library :- The foundation for the Library was laid by Sri Venkata Varaha Giri , the Ex-President of India. It has a rare collection of about 45,000 volumes on different subjects Even research scholars visit the Library for reference. Outdated Journals are preserved., Staff :- Where ever they may go, the staff of VSR & NVR College stand unique. From the beginning scholars, committed teachers have been on the rolls. They excelled not only in their profession but also in various other fields. The first Principal Sri S.P.Ragland was an able administrator, a disciplinarian & a devoted teacher too. In token of respect for his services the seminar hall was named after him., Kala Prapurna Konduru Veera Raghavacharyulu, Sri Prasada Rao of Commerce Department well known as Hithasri, Talluri Nageswara Rao of the same department a well known short story writer, Novelist paly wright, Sri G.V.Krishna Rao, a famous critic & Novelist, Sri Md.Nafizuddin an eminent writer with pen name ‘Sowjanya’, Sri A.Venkateswara Reddy, the editor of ‘Missimi’ were some of the note worthy lecturers.
