Handia Polytechnic was founded by pt. jawaharlal nehru in year 1954., Handia Polytechnic HAS RANKED IN THE TOP 10 POLYTECHNICS IN INDIA IN YEAR 1982. Handia Polytechnic IS SITUATED ON NH 2 AND 36 KM AWAY FROM ALLAHABAD CITY HANDIA IS THE BIGGEST TAHSHIL OF ALLAHABAD, The institution came into existence in the year 1954. A society was formed under the guidance of the Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri, the then Railway minister and Pt Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, the then prime minister. It was called “Technical Education Societyâ€. The first contribution to the fund of the society was made by Shri V.P Singh in the year 1954. The institute was initially called Technical Institute, Handia. The foundation stone was laid by Pt Jawaharlal lal Nehru on 13th July 1954. A board of management was also constituted to run the institution. The board was headed by Shri Lal Bahadur Shastry as chairman. The commissioner of Allahabad division was designated as the vice chairman. Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri continued to head the management until his demise. Thereafter, the chairmanship was entrusted to the Vice chairman viz the Commissioner of the Allahabad division. The institute was rechristened as Handia Polytechnic, Handia in the year 1960., Handia Polytechnic is located in the City Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh and established in the year 1958 with a target to spread awareness and education to the rural as well as the urban community of the society for developing of the youth’s personality and their skills enabling them to achieve their career goals.
