With its first batch graduating in 1965, Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has evolved with time and offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MS by Research and Ph.D. The UG curriculum provides strong base to the students in Electrical Engineering and provides exposure to the latest technologies. PG programme leads the students to work on interesting research problems in the following areas of specialization: Microelectronics & VLSI, Control & Automation, Power Engineering, Signal Processing, Communication & Networks, RF & Microwaves and Photonics., The research interests of the faculty members encompass a wide gamut of sub-disciplines of Electrical Engineering.
