The Sardar Patel Shikshan Samiti - a registered Public Charitable Society was established with the main objective of rendering Social & Public Service to the poor, needy, down-trodden and deserving population of the Society along with the provision of providing Educational & Medical facilities. Sardar Patel Shikshan Samitihas been conceptualized as a Centre of excellence in Dental & Medical Sciences, training & research. The name of Educational and Hospital wing has been termed as Sardar Patel Institute of Dental & Medical Sciences. The chairman and Founder Mr. O.P.Chaudhary is keenly interested in Social, Educational and Medical Services to the society. The project finally took shape only because of his zeal, enthusiasm, determination, patience and perseverance. The Vice-Chairman of the society, Chaudhary Kranti Kumar Singh inspired by Hon’ble Loh Purush Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, has a dynamic spirit and made untiring efforts towards achieving the task.The Institute imparts B.D.S. training in accordance with the rules laid down by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad, U.P.. The Institute is affiliated to the concerning university for the purpose of examination and award of B.D.S. Degree till the 2001 session.this affiliation is provided by the Chancellor ( Governor ) of U.P. India

Dental Science is an area that has gained tremendous recognition in recent years. In the past, this important acet of Medical Science was neglected in comparison with mainstream medicine. The ratio of qualified Dental Surgeons was very low as compared to other Medical faculties. This prompted the Sardar Patel Shikhan Samiti (Registered Public Charitable Society: Regn No.- 1087/95-96; Dt: 05.09.95) to establish an Institute of Dental and Medical Sciences alongwith a General Hospital with the main objective of rendering social and public service to the poor, needy and deserving populace of Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states alongwith providing Academic excellence in Dental and Medical Sciences, training and research.

The Institute got off to a flying start under the leadership of Honorable Chairman and Founder Dr.O.P.Chaudhary. It was his zeal, enthusiasm, determination, patience and perseverance that the Institute of Dental and Medical Sciences was setup in 1996, and named ‘Sardar Patel Post Graduate Institute of Dental and Medical Sciences’ as a tribute to Iron man of India - Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who have been a constant source of inspiration to our honorable Chairman.
