At GPL, we are always ready to adopt the new ways of teaching methodology that enables the students to learn practical aspects and think out of the box., The aim of technical education has been to create a technically skilled class in the country. It is a typical style of education, deviating from normal traditional education. In this order, higher level engineering colleges and medium level polytechnic institutions come. While traditional education has been successful to some extent in providing employment to the youth in today's technological age, the technical educated youth is not interested in any job and can start a job and create a foundation of self-reliance., For this purpose, the Government of India and accordingly the State Governments have formed the organization of technical institutions and in this context, a major institution of technical education under the Uttarakhand Government is the Government Polytechnic Lohaghat. This institution was started in the month of October 1975 in the rented buildings of Fernhill, Pithoragarh, the frontier district. Initially, the three-year diploma civil engineering and two-year stenography and secondary practice diploma courses were started in this institution with 30-30 admissions capacity. From the session 1984-85, the three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering course started with a capacity of 30 admissions. Which was included in the Electronics Engineering Diploma Course 30 from the year 1986-87. From the session 1985-86, a two-year diploma pharmacy course was started in the institution with a capacity of 30 admissions. And since the year 2002-03, 400 nali 20 acres of land is approved at a place called Chhamiyan after the Government Polytechnic Lohaghat whose area is about 8 hectares. Since the year 1990, the organization has shifted to its private buildings. This institution is located 89 km from Tanakpur Pithoragarh Motor Road Tanakpur on Tanakpur railway station, at a place called Chhamani, at a distance of 04 km from Lohaghat on Lohaghat Barakot Road, on which the residential and non-residential building of the institution is necessary., Under the technical education in the organization, Engineering like Civil, Electronics, Information Technology such as Engineering Branches and Pharmacy's Engineering North Branch and M.O. Education is imparted in the M. & Sacramental practice branches for providing three-year and two-year diplomas respectively. Control courses are conducted on the basis of the standards set by the Indian Council of Technical Education AICTE and the pharmacy curriculum of the Pharmaceutical Council of India PCI. The conduct of annual examinations and entrance examinations and the grant of post-study diplomas diplomas, Uttarakhand Technical Education Council constituted by the Government of Uttarakhand, Is done by Roorkee. Another main function of this council is the determination and revision of curriculum for various engineering branches in institutions, while the curriculum related to pharmacy is carried out by the Pharmaceutical Council of India PCI., The academic session of the institution starts in the month of July and for this in the month of May, Uttaranchal Technical Education Council, Roorkee conducts exams at various centers in the state for admission in the first year. Entry qualification for Engineering Branches has passed high school examination with science subjects especially Mathematics and Intermediate in Science of Pharmacy. And M. O. M. and S. Intermediate examination for P. passed with English or Hindi subject. Based on the results of the entrance examination, students are allocated to various institutions through state level focused counseling and they are admitted only after examination at the institution level. Before the formation of Uttarakhand state, there was a provision to conduct examinations in this institution on an annual basis only by UP Technical Education Council, Lucknow. But even after the formation of the state, even after the Uttarakhand Technical Education Council came into existence, these examinations have been done on an annual basis only during the transition period.
