The Department of Biotechnology would also focus on Marine Biotechnology and in view of the rapid industrialization of the district concentrate on environmental Biotechnology issues and features of biodegradation due to industrial effluents. The thermal power industries, the leather industry, the apparel park, and the four SEZs coming up in this district in close vicinity to the University require extensive Biotechnology studies.
The Department is planning to enter into an MoU with Agri-Biotech Foundation, Hyderabad, and Shanta Biotechnic, Hyderabad for collaborative research and student project execution.
