“Writing for the Media” is an important specialization for the M.A. English students, given the proactive role played by the media in enlightening the public on the social and economic development of the nation. The long and pioneering history of journalism in the district also calls for special attention being paid to the media and the mode of writing it stimulates. In addition to the curriculum focusing on the language skills of the students, a Workshop on Communication Skills conducted once a year provides the stimulus for the cultivation of communication skills so essential in the globalized employment situation.
