Welcome to the Website of Eastern Dooars BEd Training College under the University of North Bengal. There has been a long felt need of establishing a new BEd. as well as MEd. College for the Students of Jalpaiguri, especially of Dooars, and Easter Part of Alipurduar and Cooch Behar with a view to giving scope to the education degree to enhance their skill and competency to join in the Teaching Profession. Such Degree now in a knowledge base society may be treated as an essential prerequisite for becoming a teacher in a Secondary / Higher Secondary School., A Teacher has to renew and update his/her teaching. Competency all along his/her career and B.Ed course is just the first base of this Teaching Process. Keeping proper emphasis on the need of the Society and to meet the future challenges in the field of Education., Eastern Dooars BEd Training College, Bhatibari, Alipurduar WB, 736121 was established with the aim to provide quality education under the Geographical Society of North Bengal, Thana more, Alipurduar, Pin code 736122 in 29th October 2003 with Vide Registration No S/IL/17258/2003-04 under the Society Registration Act XXVI, 1961 .The college is initially recognized by the NCTE of India vide Letter No ERC/7-70.6.3/2006/ 3839 1 dated on 31st October 2006 for conducting BEd. course of one year duration from the academic session 2006-2007 with an annual intake of 100 students and MEd. recognized by the NCTE of India vide Letter No ERC/7- 92.6 1.12/2009/15759 dated on March 17th, 2009 for conducting MEd. course of post graduate level of one year duration with an annual intake of 25 from the academic session 2009-2010. BEd. affiliated to North Bengal University, Darjeeling WB with Vide letter No 307/84/Insp-06 dated on 7/12/2006 and MEd. is affiliated with Vide Letter No F 87/ACL/MEd./09-10/261 dated on 14-08-2009., Now our BEd & MEd. courses have been renewed recognition by the NCTE with vide letter no. F.ERC/NCTE/APE00557/BEd./Revised Order/2015/32425 dated on 30.05.2015 & BEd. affiliated to North Bengal University, Darjeeling with Vide letter No.64/37/insp-16 dated on 21/10/2016 & F.ERC/NCTE/ERCAPE 00826/MED.
