GMIT has named the Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology in memory & honor of late Smt. Gorge Mukherjee, who had immensely contributed to the activities of the trust. This trust registered under the Trust Registration Act, West Bengal 1950. GMIT courses are approved by AICTE and college is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology. The college possesses the state-of-the-art infrastructure and has International Corporate Tie-Ups for excellent placement., Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology was established in Baruipur, Kolkata, by Mallabhum Human Resources Development Trust MHRDT, a Trust registered under the Trust Registration Act, West Bengal 1950, which has been successfully running MIT, Bishnupur for the past 12 years, under the area of KMDA, just not to add one more Engineering College but with an aim to provide quality education, creating employable engineers as per industry requirements & providing global exposure to its students., Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology GMIT, an engineering institute in West Bengal was started in 2011 by Mallabhum Human Resource Development Trust MHRDT in memory of Lt.
