About Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar
Gujarat Ayurved University was established on 5th January 1965 following a legislative Act (Gujarat Ayurved University Act, 1965) by Govt.of Gujarat. This university regulates the education in Ayurveda, Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Yoga & Naturopathy etc. in Gujarat state. The university has a full-fledged undergraduate section offering BAMS degree; Postgraduate section offering PG and PhD studies in Ayurveda, Pharmacy and Medicinal Plant sciences; Pharmacy College offering diploma and degree in pharmaceutical sciences; and Yoga institute offering postgraduate diploma and degrees in Yoga & Naturopathy within the campus and many affiliated colleges all over the state. It is the first Ayurveda University in the country.
The university offers following courses: B.A.M.S., M.D. (Ayu), Ph.D. (Ayu), B.Pharma (Ayu), M.Pharma (Ayu), P.G. Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy, Introductory Course in Ayurveda, Certificate Course in Yoga and Naturopathy, M.Sc. in Medicinal Plants, B.Sc. (Yoga), and Ph.D. in Medicinal Plants. The university has partnered with the California College of Ayurveda in the United States in order to develop international standards for Ayurvedic education.

Gujarat Ayurved University Jamnagar is the only statutory University exclusively devoted to Ayurvedic Studies and Research, also called Homeopathy. This University was established in 1966 by the Government of Gujarat. It has a spacious campus extending to 37 Acres. All the Ayurvedic colleges in the State are affiliated with this University. It has all the facilities for the studies for graduation, post graduation. and Ph.D. courses.
