The number of seats available through NEET UG changes every year as new medical colleges are approved. Currently, India has more than 1 lakh MBBS seats across government and private medical colleges. In addition to MBBS seats, there are also around 27,000 BDS seats, more than 50,000 AYUSH seats (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS), and several thousand seats in veterinary and nursing programs that use NEET scores. These seats are distributed across central universities, state government colleges, private institutions, deemed universities, and institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER.
