NEET UG is used for admission to several undergraduate medical and health science courses across India. These include MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), AYUSH courses such as BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), and BSMS (Siddha), BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry), and some B.Sc Nursing programs in institutions like AIIMS. Many central universities, state universities, private medical colleges, and deemed universities accept NEET scores for these programs. The exam is mandatory for students who wish to study medicine either in India or abroad, as Indian students seeking MBBS degrees overseas must also qualify NEET to obtain an eligibility certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
