NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) is the single national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. NEET UG serves as the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS), B.Sc Nursing (in some institutions), BVSc & AH, and other allied medical courses in approved colleges across India. Admissions through NEET UG include 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges, 85% state quota seats in state government colleges, central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, deemed universities, ESIC colleges, and private medical colleges. Since 2019, AIIMS and JIPMER admissions have also been integrated into NEET UG.
