The mop-up round is an additional counselling round conducted after the first and second rounds of counselling to fill vacant postgraduate medical seats. It is organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats and by state authorities for state quota seats. Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in earlier rounds or those who are eligible according to the counselling rules can participate in this round. The mop-up round helps ensure that as many medical seats as possible are filled before the academic session begins.
